Warriors, explorers, missionaries and first responders of all kinds have incredible Courage. The ability to know the danger and still go forward is Courage at its finest. I am rather impulsive so I might make a seemingly courageous act without realizing the danger involved. The highest courage involves moving forward with full knowledge of the risk. Learning to live the day to day life with Courage is such a valuable choice. Living in the midst of daily monotonous challenges and choosing to be cheerful and optimistic is a very high form of Courage. Our God knows of our struggles. He knows that we grow tired and exhausted and find little Courage for the road ahead. We are told “Wait for the Lord. Be strong and let your heart take Courage. Yes wait for the Lord” Ps. 27:14. When fear and fatigue creep in we have a Helper. Jesus pours Courage into our hearts with these words that He left for us “These words I have spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation but take Courage I have overcome the world” John 16:33. In the daily challenges of often humdrum routines we need Courage to put our dependence on Him and move forward to make a positive difference in our worlds—and no doubt it will often take Courage. With His presence and help we can do it!
