There is a deep longing in the heart of us all for the kind of love relation that “sticks.” On almost a daily basis we hear of the “non-sticking” kind of relationships. There is an attachment, a connection – a hope for the never ending loving bond, but in the hearts of many there is worry and doubt concerning the fragile nature of many attachments. Honestly, we often do lack a great relational track record. Our interests change, available time changes, and new relationships crowd the old ones. We get distracted. We forget to work on ways to make love felt. We focus so much on receiving love that we neglect expressing love to the world around us. We most often look for love in the wrong places. Believers, take a deep breath and open your hearts again to the great love resource – Our Lord Jesus. He reminds us, “I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you,” and we confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper. I will not be afraid what man shall do to me.” (Hebrews 13:5) Hoorah – this is sticking love supreme! This is the strong love that nudges us out into the world to love others and helps us to “stick” in the tough times. When we can grab onto the assurance of His unending, non-performance based love we grow so much stronger and are able to share sticking love to the world around us.
