We’ve all been there. We hit the wall, we miss the obvious, we break a trust, we disobey, we run out of resources, and worst of all we run out of options (we think). What will they think if I ask for help? I’ll lose my reputation as a mature, wise believer. They will find out my faults and weaknesses. How quickly we forget that our God “is a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) Not only will God help us, but He will also prompt us to resource His people in our world. God’s believers also greatly desire to “help the brokenhearted and bind up the wounds of those hurting.” (Psalm 147:3) Our lives are subject to the tactics of the enemy of God. He delights in discouraging and defeating God’s people. He is clever and knows exactly how to knock the wind out of our lives and flatten our hope and confidence, BUT God loves to use it all to teach, train and transform us into a greater witness of His power and grace. A major response on our part is to learn to quickly call for HELP. Wisely choose where you search for help. Look for maturity and wisdom and a personal walk with God. It’s often wise to check with two or three resources and then our wonderful Heavenly Father will help to confirm the direction you are to take. We all need help and need it often. Take heart … Help is on the way!
