“Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Friends, these words are for each of us. They flow from the warm, strong heart of our God. They are meant to be used as strong medicine for the journey our God allows for each of our lives. We are wise when we take cautions. It’s a good thing to fasten a seatbelt and to look before we leap … and it’s certainly a very good thing to check the label before we take the medicine. These are reasonable cautions that are not motivated by fear. Anxiety is largely the result of anticipating things that have not yet entered into your experience. Anxiety drains energy and joy. When our God encourages us to “FEAR NOT” it is because He desires for us to save the energy that is channeled into fear to be directed toward positive action. Our God is with us and will never forsake us. Our part is to acknowledge that wonderful promise and move forward to encourage those around us. So Fear Not!
