Some of us thrive with Change. We delight in variety and novelty. We look at Change as a fresh stimulating turn of events. We love new things and in order for “new” to occur, we reason there must be change. There are others of us who hate Change. Change is the enemy. We love the familiar, the usual, and the expected. We do not like “surprises”. What a blessing we have in our God who comes alongside all of us, no matter on which side we find ourselves, and supports and challenges us to help us move forward on the journey He has mapped out for us. This is our God who says “behold I make all things new” Rev. 21:5 and He also tells us “I never change” Mal. 3:6. How can this be? God’s very nature is a comfort to all of us. We love knowing He does not change. We can count on Him. When He tells us He will hold our hand on our journey- we can know that by His Holy Spirit He “never leaves us or forsakes us” Deut. 31:6 at the same time He goes before us opening up new wonderful opportunities and taking us to higher ground. With Him as our constant companion we can face, and even welcome, change because with the security and comfort of His unchanging love and support we can take comfort in the stability of our journey with Him while we embrace the fresh new opportunities He opens for us. Enjoy the journey.
