A journey into new territory takes us through varying terrains and through different weather conditions. If you have tendencies similar to mine, after the first push for those new year positive changes we often hit a down time. We even may ask ourselves, “Why did I think this was a good idea?” Making changes in my routine is not easy. Forming new habits puts strain on unused muscles – mental and physical. Change is great in the abstract but in a practical sense it takes EFFORT and TIME. Perhaps I’ve barely started these new fresh things that seemed so right and valuable at the time, but I am already looking for reasons to quit or turn back. Lord, help us! Not every bright idea at the first of the year is worth keeping for the long haul, but take time to consult your Heavenly Father and if this is a change that would be pleasing to Him we must press on. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) Our God will bring a fresh wind beneath your sails. He will also go with you on the journey. Blessings to you! This new thing will make an important difference.
