Friends, I discovered long ago that “It’s not what you get that makes all the difference, but what you do with what you get that lasts into all eternity.” Just looking at those in our world we see victims becoming victors by applying this principle. We see those who turn adversity into opportunity. The principle applies to the small set-back or unfair decision to the major crushing blow. It’s what we do with what we get. The Lord Jesus Christ is the ultimate change maker. He agreed to become like us in order to make a way for us … when we make Him Lord of our lives… when we decide to follow Him into a vital “make a difference” existence here in our daily life and a future wonderful home in Heaven. Jesus Christ is the supreme “Gift.” When He becomes the director of our lives we can truly know that all that comes to us passes through His loving hands. So it is truly not what we get but “what we do with what we get” that makes the difference. The scriptures help us make this amazing heart commitment. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all you ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) With all my heart I wish for you this “Gift.”
