God’s GPS

When we learn to use our current GPS as a sure way to arrive at our destination, it’s a great relief—IF we learn to trust its directions. My GPS talks to me; it gives me advance warning for lane changes and turns. However, when she is silent, I become anxious. I want to fiddle with the system to make certain it is still operating efficiently. I have never yet found the system to be in error. It is my lack of trust of the system that causes the trouble. Once I was so certain she had it wrong that I defied her instructions and went the way that “felt” right. Sorry to say, I was late to my meeting and wasted time getting back on track. You, of course, do not fall into this foolishness. Believers have an amazing Shepherd who is always guiding us in the way we should go. We, His sheep, hear His voice and if we have any sense, we follow Him. (John 10:27) Unfortunately, we all have a great tendency to listen to our own insistent voice that assures us that we know the best way. We, therefore, tend to drift away on our own willful way. Fortunately, our Heavenly GPS drops everything and comes to find us to bring us back to the right trail. We may have some scratches and bruises from the off trail ramble, but when we get back on track even those wounds begin to heal. It is an amazing mark of one who has chosen to live a life following God’s GPS … their life goes with divine purpose and will reach the best destination. We need to plug into His system, His word, and ask for strength to obey what we hear! We can do it and God is always helping us on the way.
