Sometimes we need a reminder that as Believers we have a wonderful, full time Helper. Our God does not leave us out on the rapids in a leaky canoe and expect us to manage in our own strength. He warmly encourages us to consciously invite Him into our boat. In fact, to put Him in the steering seat as we do our part and paddle like crazy. The Believer’s relationship with Christ is one of “active dependence.” We do our part by paying attention and obeying, and He provides the power and direction. What an enormous relief. In these very unusual times it is easy to feel as though we have no guide book, no previous experiences to fall back upon. Our Helper; however, is not taken by surprise and He remains a very present help. When He allows rough waters on our journey He never sends us over the rapids alone. So no matter where you find yourself today, no matter the shape and pressure of the challenge, we all have a resource that never fails. Remember, “For it is God who is at work (in it all) to will and to work for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13) We may have those moments when we think, “I can’t go on.” It is then the time to remember God is at work in all of this and He is always doing something good, so YES, I CAN go on with Him. He will provide all that I need. So take a deep breath, put on a smile, and put your trust once again in Him. We love knowing that our God wastes nothing.
