When someone is learning to fly an airplane there is a great deal of training before that moment when the student is sent off to “fly alone.” Some hard line swimming teachers believe in the “push them in and let them learn or drown”! Our God seems to use both methods – except when life gives us a sudden push into deep waters our God always goes with us. When we may cry out, “this is too much,” He always reassures us, “I am with you always.” (Matthew 28:20) Doesn’t that make all the difference? To know that He never “leaves us or forsakes us” is such a blessing. (Hebrews 13:5) What a difference it makes to have the assurance of His strong companionship “through” any challenge. The first time we face a challenge brings with it all the unknown possibilities. Believers never ever experience the “Solo Flight.” We are never “solo.” His loving, strong presence accompanies every challenge. We may look “solo” and we may even foolishly feel “solo,” but the truth is Believers are never solo. So take heart! With such a companion we can navigate stormy skies and deep waters.
