Why is saying we are sorry for what we have said or done so difficult’re sometimes? Do we think that admitting a mistake is a sign of weakness? Do we worry that the other person will take advantage of us when we admit we’ve made a mistake? Friends, we probably hesitate at times for all these reasons, but it is the strong one, the one who is a learner who is willing to correct their errors in order to move forward. There have been many beautiful relationships ruined because of the stubbornness and pride that kept them from saying they were sorry. Believers must not worry about the other person’s response. When we make mistakes we must be quick to apologize. Even if our part of the problem was only a small part of the issue, we must respond in the right way. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all you ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) Friends, when you need to, quickly say you are sorry. It will make God smile with pleasure.
